Once, King Frederick II of Prussia (also known among his subjects as "Old Fritz") went to inspect a prison in Berlin. As he inquired about the reasons why the prisoners were behind bars, everyone swore they had been incarcerated by mistake and were innocent of any wrongdoing. Only one admitted that he was serving time for robbery. The king, who had a good sense of humor, ordered the latter to be thrown out of the prison, saying, "Throw this robber out so he doesn't corrupt the decent men gathered here!"
