Philipp Ammon is a historian and philologist. He studied at Kazan Federal University, Moscow State University as well as at the Institute of Classical Philology, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies in Tbilisi (Georgia), and received his Master’s degree from the Free University and Humboldt University of Berlin.
In 2020 Ammon published a book
Georgia between Statehood and Russian Occupation: The Roots of the Conflict from 1918 till 1924.
His sphere of interest includes Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Middle East.
Philipp Ammon is fluent in English, German, Russian, Georgian, French and Italian.
